The G.AA Drop Rig utilizes an electro-magnet to release a 7.78 kg impactor probe along a cable-guided free fall to certify the deflection response of EuroSID family rib modules. Rib deflections are measured with a linear potentiometer mounted within the rib module.
 
Drop test are conducted form various heights depending on the rib type
(see chart).
 
Additional hardware is available to conduct inspection tests on rib damper components only using a 1.0 kg impactor.
